To my loyal & valued customers,
Happy New Year has never had a more deep-rooted impact and feeling as it has had this year. We are all trying to put behind us floods, a presidential election that was unprecedented, wildfires out west, hurricanes, and of all things a legendary drought from the spring/summer of 2020. I’m sure other items were left off my list — Oh Yea! You might have heard about a virus that occurred and brought the world to its’ knees! The 2020 train has stopped and I got off.
Hope springs eternal in 2021. Vaccines, new political direction – for however you feel, lots of water in our area rivers, a vibrant economy, and a renewed vigor for our area restaurants are all on many peoples’ list. I’m hoping to get back to all of my classes, seminars, and presentations in 2021. I will keep you abreast of new dates and schedules for all these. How about a special “shout out” for all our nurses, doctors, first responders that have worked tirelessly to help so many in need. We love you all!!
I will keep everyone informed and all new folks as well, who have signed up for classes from last year and already from this year about dates and schedules. For those from last year, I have your money and will talk to you about this year individually as far as what you want to do. I plan on holding classes as soon as everyone is comfortable and we can all be safe together.
That’s it for now. Be safe and healthy and thank you for your loyalty to my shop. Your patronage is what keeps my shop in existence!
Regards and See You on the Water,
Let’s talk Fishing for a moment:
- New licenses are required.
- The Swift River continues to produce lots of fish.
- The Deerfield and Hoosac Rivers are still the gems that they have been.
- The fly shop is prepped for a banner year. New waders, rods, wading boots, reels, nets and fly tying items are arriving daily. Stop in for an up to date assessment and see what you can’t “live without”.
- Check your gear, clean your lines, patch, or purchase new waders and get ready because not only is hope on the horizon but the calendar continues to tick along. We will have our lines in the water before you know it.

Internet Purchasing vs. ESFS Purchasing
When you take a look at the rewards program being offered and all the products I carry for your needs, it should become apparent that I’m trying to meet the needs of everyone in the fly fishing community.
Please look closely at the rewards program in conjunction with your purchase needs as I can confidently make the claim that with the rewards program the Evening Sun Fly Shop is the least expensive fly shop in America – Bar none!! There is no fly shop that I know or any conglomerate, mega box store that competes with my prices.
|Internet Purchasing||Evening Sun Purchasing|
|Can’t see or touch product||See, touch and feel before you buy|
|Often you pay for freight/shipping||No freight/shipping charges|
|No custom fitting on waders or boots, sunglasses, or any item where sizing is critical||Try it on before you buy it. Sizing is critical to your purchase|
|Not usually a knowledgeable, trained person to talk to who has used the product(s)||Well skilled, trained people to talk to and explain your needs|
|Minimal if at all rewards program||A rewards program that yields up to 31% for your purchasing. Unheard of in the industry!!!|
These are at least 5 reasons to consider calling, stopping in or e-mailing the shop before you CLICK the mouse. You will help to support a local business that truly cares for you as a client and you will pay no more and always get FREE shipping to your door. Please try us out!!
ESFS Upcoming Events
All classes are on hold for now. If you have signed up for any of these events and want your money back – please don’t hesitate to contact me at the shop for a full refund. I plan on holding these classes as soon as we all feel safe enough to join in. I will keep everyone posted on future dates.
So you think you know everything?
The ESFS will be running every month interesting factoids…
January’s Moon is called the Wolf Moon. The Saxon word for the month is “Wulf-monath” or wolf month. This year, the full Moon is late in the month of January, reaching peak illumination at 2:18 P.M. EST on Thursday, January 28, 2021. It can be seen rising from the horizon around sunset that evening.
