April 2018 Newsletter
To my loyal & valued customers,
The calendar is saying April, but Mother Nature is saying something else. The weather seems to contradict the chronology of it all. I’m ready for some bugs, fish and bright continual sunshine.
Send me an e-mail if I’m asking for too much! Better yet, direct your e-mail to Mother Nature. Let her know that the fish are waiting for us, the flowers are in need of sprouting and the lawns want to be green. Seems like a reasonable request. We know that “our season” is on the doorstep, but it just doesn’t want to get here.
I recently fished the Hoosic River in far western Mass. I did not see a bug in the air and on the water. I was hoping for some harbinger of spring to show itself. No way!
I was freezing, shaking and longing for June and July. I did manage to catch 4 wild Browns, the biggest being 20 1/2″. My partner netted a 21″ wild Brown but the birds, wildlife, and bugs were on sabbatical. Can’t wait to see the rise form of a trout.
Thank you & See you on the water,

Internet Purchasing Vs. Evening Sun Fly Shop
When you take a look at the rewards program being offered and all the products I carry for your needs, it should become apparent that I’m trying to meet the needs of everyone in the fly fishing community.
Please look closely at the rewards program in conjunction with your purchase needs as I can confidently make the claim that with the rewards program the Evening Sun Fly Shop is the least expensive fly shop in America – Bar none!! There is no fly shop that I know or any conglomerate, mega box store that competes with my prices.
